Sunset Stroll

Last week I spent the most perfect evening in my favourite seaside town,
Whitstable with Jonathan.
I am extremely lucky to only live half an hour away to this gorgeous little town and would so love to live there one day.
We took a spontaneous trip late after work the other night down to the sea for a fish 'n' chip supper.
A chance to kick back, relax and have a drink overlooking the sea.
Luckily enough I came straight from presenting my sewing show on the shopping channel that day so I was all dressed up to hit to seashore.

It really was the most romantic evening overlooking the shore, watching the sunset, sipping on a fruit cider and chowing down on fish'n'chips with my favourite person in the world.
(I'm getting gushy on you!)

Ahoy there matey!

Ahoy there me mateys!!

You really can't beat a good sailor dress, can you? I've always been a fan of the whole sailor style- to
me it says 'ahoy' but also gives off that cute vibe at the same time.
if there really is such a thing?

These photos are once again captured by the fabulous Kitty Gallannaugh on the same gorgeous day out.

Isabella Plantation really is a beautiful area of Richmond Park and
amongst it we discovered a picturesque little pond.

It seemed so natural to sit over the little bridge and dip my feet in the pond...also by this point my legs were covered in mud so if nothing else it was great to give them a little bathe.

Hat- Garden Centre

This dress I picked up for only £10 from the fabulous Dina from 'Sundays Girl' at yes....again another vintage item from Monica's Vintage Fair! It's fair to say I cleaned up at the last fair.

I went a little crazy....but everything I bought I've already worn lots and
intend to wear lots more this summer!

Last week I had the utmost pleasure and privilege of working with the legendary, spirited and gifted Photographer that is Kitty Gallannaugh
Lots of you might already be acquainted with her stunning and unforgettable work.

I know I had been for a very long time!

I would forever gaze into her images and escape into
a world of romance, fashion, dreams and wanderlust.

She is infamous for capturing magical moments in time and effortlessly
stirs your imagination in every one of her images.

Working with Kitty was a complete joy and felt like I had known her for ages! Knattering away about all things girlie- our favourite Disney films, how we met our boyfriends and somehow amongst it all managed to get seriously lost amongst the plantation.
I got to channel my inner woodland fairy in these shots complete with a freshly handmade flower crown made by the lovely lady herself.

It was an extremely close call that day with it raining heavily in the afternoon, but after us both sending out some positive vibes into the world, it soon disappeared and seemed like it almost never happened.

Thank you dearest Kitty for a magical afternoon xxx

Don't sit under the almond tree with anyone else but me

"Don't sit under the almond tree with anyone else but me...."

I am simply in awe of all the beautiful trees around us at the moment, and in particular the almond and blossom trees which are my personal favourites of mine.
There is something rather magical about them.

With that in mind I felt inspired to bring out some my pastel coloured clothing today.
Whites, creams, turquoises and pinks which as colours do tend to mellow me out when I wear them. Funny that isn't it?

This white lace collared dress is such a beautiful piece that I only really bring out in the summertime.
Some of you might remember it from last year in The Red Shoes post. The collar on it is huge and I simply love the way it fans all the way around the neckline and at the back.

I simply got carried away when I was taking photos of these magnificent almond trees, I could of taken hundreds and hundreds of photos as they were so beautiful.

Cowboys and Ice creams

Cowboys and Ice creams, now there's a combination you never thought you'd hear together. Well I managed to team them up the other day while the sun was high in the sky and peeped out for a while.
I bought this necklace from Claire's Accessories whilst on my trip away with the girls and it instantly put a smile on my face. It's slowly becoming my favourite piece of jewellery.

As lots of you know I'm a big fan of all things cute and kitsch. If it's enough to make me smile....It's pretty much in the bag. I'll never forget when I interviewed Anna Wintour (personal highlight of last year) and afterwards said to myself "I cannot believe I was actually wearing a dress with chilli peppers on when I met Anna Wintour? What the hell?!" and you know what in retrospect I am so glad I did because that's who I really am and it worked because she said yes to me for an impromptu interview after me being told I wouldn't be able to get one.

As much as I'd love to spend my days wearing Chanel, Mary Katranzou and Temperly I just don't seem have the bank balance for it at the moment ha! I like to think when my presenting career takes off big time I will, but for now I will rock up in my homemade sewing creations and vintage.

Vest- Topshop
Skirt- Handmade
Plimsoles- Cath Kidston
Socks- Primark
Bag- Primark
Necklace- Claires Accessories

This skirt is another handmade 'sew happy' creation I actually made this ages and ages ago but I just never got around to photographing it. I've worn it lots and the fabric is by the fabulous 'Alexander Henry' collection which I am simply in love with.

I picked it up at a Knitting and Stitch show and there was only a metre left in existence so naturally it had to come home with moi. With only 1 metre there wasn't a lot I could do with it. I didn't want to make a cushion or a bag with it. It needed to be clothing! With little options I drafted some panels and made it into a skirt.

Hey how ya doin?

So the weather was lovely enough to wear the classic ET vintage dress. Lots of you will remember this  dress from last year.
I found it in a little boutique in Bristol and loved the customised ET patch sewn on to it.

Todays post title is inspired by the new Little Mix single...'How ya doing?' if your from overseas simply pop it into youtube....it's a tune! I'm not even ashamed to say I listen to Little Mix!
 It's a great pop song.

I have just come back from a lovely weekend in Newcastle meeting up with lots of friends from University and some who I haven't seen in over 5 years! It was a great weekend full of laughing, catching up, dim sum, chocolate and dancing.
