Broadstairs way to heaven

Ah yes at last a much needed day off with Jonathan! We had been looking forward to having a day off together for ages and planned to go to Broadstairs. We were so lucky that the weather was simply gorgeous on Saturday- the perfect climate to sport my baby blue vintage dress which I don't get to wear often.

We were seriously impressed with Broadstairs as a day out, there was so much to do and lots of fun to be had. We were squealing like little kids when we saw they had boat swings on the seafront and asked the person in charge if we could go on (as the current swing'ees were all kids!). Neither of us could actually remember when the last time was when we went on one....must of been when we were kids. At only £1 it was money well spent! Click to see the little video we made!

After a walk along a beach and hanging out at the rock pool where people were catching crabs and prawns we were feeling rather peckish, so some chippies was most definitely on the cards. We saw lots of people come out of 'Seafarers' and no lie it was probably the best fish and chip shop chips we've ever had. Bear in mind Jonathan and I love the seaside and you could say we are connoisseurs of the chip variety. We sat on a beach overlooking the sea and ate every single last chip!

Now after have some tasty chips we were in need of something sweet! (I have a real sweet tooth!) Keri from work mentioned to me that we had to go to the Ice Cream shop overlooking the sea. Morelli's was fantastic! It was a retro inspired ice cream parlour with a fountain, pink seating booths, juke box in the corner and dozens of sundaes and deserts to chose from. We decided on their banana split and it was gone within minutes- seriously delicious! A really fantastic atmosphere too with a live band playing by the ice cream and it really is worth a visit if you're ever in town!
